New Club in Town: Grelle Forelle
On 9th of december a new club in Vienna, named Grelle Forelle, opens its gates at the Donaukanal. Located at Spittelau, nearby to Vienna University of Econimics and Business, the club will serve you excellent sound and a high-class booking. Crosstown Rebels label head Damian Lazarus plays at the opening.
We already discussed in detail in the Coverstory of the Gap Issue # 119 (in German), that today Vienna has lots of clubbing posibilities, also compared to international standards. Not only DJs, producers and party people as well feel that spirit of optimism, the city’s club density is getting higher and higher.
On december 9th, „Grelle Forelle“ opens at the danubian canal, close to metro station Spittelau, the Zaha Hadid House and the WU Vienna. The club is going to be a host to sophisticated crowd and their requests. Beside stylish interior design, fair prices and a custom designed high-end PA, the club will give the techno-audience an excellent booking. In the upcoming first weeks not only opening-act Damian Lazarus is going to spin the records. DJs and producers like Anton Zap, Pupkullies & Rebecca and Matthias Tanzmann are already confirmed. The taste in local bookings is also very promising. Local heroes like Ken Hayakawa, Andy Catana and Laminat take part, too.
Two floors and a chill out area at least matches the clubs size of the famous Flex club a little further down the Donaukanal. According to the club manager, all requirements are complied. Even a sound absorbing window front, which is a part of the winter garden, was exclusively constructed. It seems, that they are also well prepared for problems with neighbors.
Anybody arriving with a car, can leave it 24h in a parking garage for three euros, and if the night was to wild and you are not able to drive anymore there is always the all-night-metro on weekends just around the corner.
Supposedly there’ll be a kitchen, that will serve more than just sandwich and saussages. You see, nothing is random in this club. We will keep you updated!
